If you have recently welcomed a new addition to your family in the UAE, it is important to apply for a residence visa within 120 days of their birth. The application process is straightforward, whether you choose to apply online or through a registered typing center.
Before initiating the application process, it is essential to ensure that you meet specific prerequisites and have already obtained your child’s birth certificate and passport.
Once you have all of the necessary documents and requirements in place, you are ready to begin the visa application process.
Submit the application for the visa
The visa process in the UAE consists of two main aspects – the Emirates ID application and the visa stamping application. These two processes have been streamlined by the UAE government to simplify the application process, allowing applicants to submit their information only once.
To complete this step, applicants can conveniently apply online through various platforms:
- DubaiNow app for Dubai visa holders
2. Tamm app for Abu Dhabi visa holders
3. Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) app or website – UAEICP smartphone application or icp.gov.ae website
4. General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (GDRFAD) app and website – GDRFA DXB smartphone application or gdrfad.gov.ae website
By utilizing these online platforms, applicants can easily navigate the visa application process and ensure a smooth and efficient experience.
There are several in-person options available for applying for the visa, including:
- Visiting an Amer center in Dubai. Amer centers handle applications on behalf of GDRFAD.
- Visiting a registered typing center anywhere in the UAE.
When you visit the center, simply submit the required documents, provide your home address for the delivery of your Emirates ID, and make the payment.
