Residents of the UAE should be prepared for several significant announcements, such as new laws, health programs, and outdoor activity options, as October 1 approaches. An overview of all the various announcements made is provided here:
1. New AI-powered traffic system in Ajman
As of October 1, Ajman Police has implemented a new AI-powered traffic monitoring system, which means that drivers who use their phones or fail to buckle up will be captured on camera. The cameras are mounted on smart gates that have been erected throughout the Emirate and are intended to pick up on instances of cell phone use and failure to buckle up. Artificial intelligence is used by the system to track infractions of traffic laws and enhance police emergency response.
2. Visa-free entry to Sri Lanka for these nationalities
According to Harin Fernando, an advisor to Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Tourism, citizens of 35 nations—including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and India—will be able to enter the country without a visa. The initiative’s goal is to increase tourism, and participants will include nationals of China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Beginning on October 1, eligible visitors from these nations can enter Sri Lanka without prior visa approval or formalities.
3. Tighter crypto marketing rules
Another new rule will assist you in making better investment decisions if you’re interested in investing in cryptocurrencies. New regulations controlling how virtual asset service providers (VASPs) can advertise their services have been introduced by Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), and they will take effect on October 1. The most recent regulations offer precise guidelines on how to maintain compliance when advertising virtual assets in Dubai. A major focus is on safeguarding consumers by making sure marketing materials are truthful, devoid of false information, and open and honest about their disclosures.
4. Free breast cancer screenings
The Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) initiative, the Pink Caravan (PC), is providing free breast cancer screenings and awareness sessions all over the United Arab Emirates during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (Pink October). The campaign seeks to support the fight against breast cancer and emphasize the value of early detection.
Businesses can also request a mobile clinic to provide free clinical exams and mammograms to up to 60 female employees aged 20 and above, in addition to the free mammograms that the Pink Caravan will be providing at various locations. Seminars will also emphasize the significance of routine self-examinations, as early detection is essential for a successful course of treatment and recovery.
5. Dubai Safari Park reopens
After several renovations during the summer off-season, Dubai Safari Park will also open for business on Tuesday, October 1, marking the beginning of its sixth season. Three rare animals, including twin moon bears and a white rhino, were recently born at the park as part of its ongoing breeding program for endangered species.
The park’s six zones can be explored on foot or by shuttle train, which is available to visitors. These areas provide up-close interactions with a broad range of wildlife species in addition to live talks by knowledgeable zoologists.
