Effective from August 17, the minimum top-up amount at Dubai Metro ticket offices will be raised to Dh50, as per an announcement by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
This new minimum amount will only apply to individuals topping up their NOL cards at the ticketing offices located within Metro stations. However, for those seeking to add a lower amount to their NOL card, there are various online alternatives available for their convenience.
Save time and money by topping up online
“Online top-ups offer an additional advantage – you won’t have to wait in line at the office while rushing to catch the next train. Here are three convenient methods to complete your top-up:”
1. Top-up instantly with the ‘nol Pay’ app
To easily manage your Nol card balance, simply download the free nol Pay app on your smartphone, whether it’s an Android, iPhone, or Huawei device.
Once you’ve downloaded the app, open it and tap on “check card info.” Place your nol card on the back of your smartphone in the NFC area until the balance appears on your phone’s screen.
Next, tap on “Top-Up nol card,” place your card on the back of your phone again, enter your desired top-up amount, and confirm the transaction.
You can conveniently pay for the top-up using your credit or debit card details through the app’s secure payment portal.
With instant activation, the top-up amount will reflect instantly on your card balance, allowing you to use your nol card without any delays.
2. Top-up through the RTA Website
To check the balance on your NOL card, visit the RTA website at rta.ae. Once on the homepage, click on “Check NOL balance” and enter the 10-digit tag ID and email address associated with your NOL card. This information can be found on the back of your card. Click on “Search” to view your current balance.
To top up your nol card, go to the following link: https://www.rta.ae/wps/portal/rta/ae/public-transport/nol/topup-nol. Enter your nol card ID and email address, confirm the details, and proceed to make a payment using your credit or debit card.
Please note that it may take between 45 minutes to four hours for the balance to activate after topping up. Once activated, you can use your card at a Metro gate, parking machine, or solar top-up machine for immediate use.
3. Top-up using the ‘RTA Dubai’ app:
To easily top up your NOL card, follow these simple steps:
- Download the RTA Dubai app and log in using your UAE Pass account.
- Once on the app’s homepage, scroll down to the Public Transportation Users section and tap on “top up.”
- Enter your NOL card tag ID and email address, choose the desired top-up amount, and select your preferred payment method (credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay).
- Please note that activation may take some time unless you are using the Nol Pay app.
By following these steps, you can conveniently and securely top up your NOL card using the RTA Dubai app.
