The New Year’s Eve fireworks display at the Burj Khalifa is one of the most highly anticipated celebrations in Dubai. To ensure the event runs smoothly and to manage the large crowds expected, the Dubai Events Security Committee (ESC) has collaborated with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to develop a comprehensive traffic plan.
If you are planning to visit Downtown Dubai for New Year’s Eve, it is recommended that you arrive before 4pm. Familiarize yourself with the road closures and public transportation options that will be in effect during this major event to avoid any inconvenience.
Road closures
To ensure smooth traffic flow during the New Year’s Eve celebrations, the following road closures will be in effect:
– Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard will be closed from 4pm once parking in the area reaches capacity. Visitors with reservations in the Boulevard area or Dubai Mall are advised to arrive before 4pm.
– Burj Khalifa Street will be closed from 4pm.
– Al Asayel Street will be closed from 4pm.
– Lower Financial Centre Road will be closed from 4pm, with the upper deck of Financial Street closing at 9pm.
– Al Mustaqbal Street will be closed from 4pm.
– Al Sukook Street will be closed from 8pm.
– Sheikh Zayed Road will have a gradual closure starting from 11pm.
Dubai Metro
The Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station will be closed until 5pm or until it reaches full capacity. Thank you for your understanding.

- Business Bay
- Financial Centre
Metro timings
Dubai Metro: The Red and Green Lines will be in operation for a total of 43 hours, serving all 53 stations non-stop from 5am on Tuesday, December 31st, until midnight on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025.
Dubai Tram: The tram service will run continuously for 24 hours, starting at 6am on Tuesday, December 31st, and concluding at 1am on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025.

Visitors are encouraged to utilise Metro stations with parking facilities:
- Jebel Ali
- Etisalat by e&
- Centrepoint
- Jumeirah Golf Estates
Alternative parking locations:
- Al Wasl Club
- Al Kifaf
- General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA)
Complimentary shuttle buses will be available to transport guests to and from designated parking areas and the New Year’s Eve event venue.

Complimentary shuttle buses will be provided for convenient departure from Burj Khalifa after the event. In addition, public buses will be available to transport attendees to nearby Metro stations, designated Dubai taxi parking areas, and alternative parking locations.

At the end of the event, RTA buses will transport attendees to three designated taxi parking areas:
- Al Wasl Club
- Al Kifaf
- General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA)
Free public viewing areas for Burj Khalifa fireworks
Experience the magic of the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Downtown Dubai at our public viewing areas, providing family-friendly spaces for all to enjoy. These areas are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, LED screens lining Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard will broadcast the live fireworks display and entertainment for all to see.
