As part of Phase I of the Khalifa City project, Bahrain’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has announced that construction on 372 new residential units will begin this month.
According to a senior minister cited by BNA, the ministry has finished site preparations and granted the project’s tender, which includes 336 dwelling units and 36 ownership flats.
According to Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, the Khalifa City project is being constructed as part of its ongoing housing projects.
Four-bedroom apartments with living areas, a kitchen, storage, and infrastructure including roads, sewage, drainage, electricity, and water networks are among the project’s contemporary designs that are suited to Bahraini families’ demands, she said.
In line with the Government Program (2023–2026), Al Romaihi emphasized the ministry’s dedication to improving social housing services as a top priority within Bahrain’s all-encompassing development process, which is headed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and backed by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, according to the BNA report.
In addition to other significant projects including the 47-unit Hawrat Sanad and the 76-unit Al Buhair Housing, the ministry will begin construction on Khalifa City’s second phase, which will include 3,000 residential units, after Phase I is finished, she said.
According to her, this initiative will contribute to the Government Program’s objectives of providing inhabitants with appropriate housing by addressing housing demands in the Southern Governorate.
