Do you know what your UID number is and how to find it?
Every expatriate residing in the UAE on a residence visa is provided with the essential documentation for their visa status.
The Unified Identification (UID) number consists of eight to ten digits and is associated with your Emirates ID. This number remains constant even if you transition from one visa type to another. For instance, if your residence visa expires and you apply for a new one, you will receive a new visa number but your UID number will remain unchanged.
Why does one need a UID number?
Knowing your Unique Identification (UID) number is crucial in specific situations, especially when making inquiries or requesting government services.
The UID number is required to successfully navigate various official procedures, such as verifying visa status or updating information on official documents.
This number is essential for tasks like preparing the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) offer letter, renewing labor contracts, applying for a new Emirates ID or renewing an existing one, extending visas for on-arrival visas, transitioning to a new residence visa, and registering a trade license for business purposes.
