Bahrain releases a detailed guide and new regulatory requirements for housing project areas.
Following the cabinet’s approval of a draft decision to modify the construction regulations for housing projects, these requirements were implemented.
The Bahrain News Agency reported that the changes are intended to increase building spaces for residential units and plots.
The goal of these regulations, according to Amna Al Rumaihi, minister of housing and urban planning, is to improve the advantages of expansion opportunities for citizens, address common building violations, and transform them into legal amendments that adhere to the standards of the Ministry of Housing.
All residential units, plots, and buildings under the ministry’s supervision must adhere to these standards.
She added that the new rules, which are part of a larger legal framework, apply to both established and undefined residential areas.
As per the report, this initiative is the result of a joint effort between legislative and executive authorities, after a comprehensive evaluation of cases that were submitted to the ministry.
