The Federal Authority for Identification, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) announced on February 28 that the Emirates ID has a new registration form that enables residents to check the status of their application and alter the date for their fingerprint scanning.
The redesigned Emirates ID Card Registration Form has been issued online by ICP on its official social media channels in order to streamline the registration process.
“Within the strategic objectives of the Authority for service developments to meet the customers’ needs, we developed the Emirates ID Card Registration Form to reflect the visual identity and facilitate customer procedures,” ICP stated in the video.
Seven new updates to the Emirates ID form
According to ICP, these are the latest changes to the Emirates ID form:
- Redesigning the form in line with ICP’s visual identity.
- Include a photo of the applicant on the application.
- Adding a Quick Response (QR) code to the Emirates ID application to monitor its progress
- Describing the procedures for obtaining an Emirates ID, which include giving the applicant’s biometric information and getting the results of their medical tests.
- Adding the name of the courier company delivering the Emirates ID.
- Providing a QR code for the ‘Customer Voice Gateway’. Applicants can scan the code, which will take them directly to the ‘Customer Voice Gateway’ web portal, which handles complaints and queries related to ICP services.
- The applicant can alter the date for the Emirates ID fingerprint scan using a different QR code.
After the typing center fills out the application online and submits it on the ICP website, they will print off the registration form and give it to the applicant.
The additional features of the application form can then be used by applicants to obtain information regarding their applications and the further steps they must take.
The applicant’s email address will be listed together with QR codes for application monitoring on the new form.
The date, time, place, and reference number of the fingerprint appointment will also be included on the form. First-time applicants for an Emirates ID are needed to provide their biometric information for the card.
