One can get the document attested by the UAE Embassy, Consulate, or Foreign Office in the country where the document is issued.
You are required to get the document attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC) in the UAE.
Both steps can be done by MOFAIC or an attestation service provider.

What is the procedure for attestation of certificates in the UAE?
Step 1:
- Register yourself
- Go to the MOFAIC registration portal
- Choose your customer type (i.e. either individual or company)
- Provide the required information and submit
Step 2:
- Apply for MOFAIC attestation in the UAE
- Log in to the portal
- Attach the document that you want to get attested
- Select the intended authority for attestation and submit
Step 3:
After submission, the application is sent for review to your chosen authority.
Step 4:
- Pay the Fees
- Visit the MOFAIC website
- Log in to your account
- Select “My Tasks”
- Make the payment
Step 5:
- Get document attested
- For the final step, you are required to visit the nearest Customer Happiness Centre (nationals and residents) or the UAE Embassy/Mission (ex-pats and foreigners) in your country. Bring the Document(s) along with you and get them attested.
How to apply directly through the MOFAIC app?
To apply through the MOFAIC app the procedure remains the same, along with some additional steps:
- Download the MOFAIC app
- Choose between “Individual Services” or “Business Services”
- Click on “Attest Official Document, Certificates”
- Sign in or create your account and the rest is the same as that of the MOFAIC website application
Fees:
MOFA UAE attestation fee for individual certificates costs AED 150 each.
MOFA UAE attestation fee for commercial certificates costs AED 2,000 each.
