Dubai has visitors from different parts of the world who come for varied purposes. There are various types of tourists visas in Dubai to cater to such visitors. One needs to have a tourist visa if he/she is not eligible for visa-free entry in the UAE.
Recently, new laws have been introduced to the tourist visa policy in the UAE which allows tourists to extend their visas twice without having to leave the country.
How to extend tourist visas in Dubai?

- Login to the GDRFA app
- Open dependent visa details
- Click on Renew Residence button
- Fill up all the details
- Select the delivery method
- Attach all the required documents
- Submit the fee
- Wait for SMS/email confirmation
Federal Authority for Identity & Citizenship
- Visit Federal Authority for Identify & Citizenship website
- Provide the required information
- Pay AED 600 fee and apply for an extension
Required documents:
In terms of renewing your visa,
- A transcript of the application’s passport. Ensure the passport has at least six months of validity
- A passport-size photo with white background
How much do you have to pay for a tourist visa renewable in Dubai?
You are required to pay AED 600 during each time of renewable.
Dubai tourist visa extension grace period:
The person who anyhow could not renew their tourist visa is required to pay AED 100 fine for each day they have overstayed.
The number of days will be calculated from 10 days after the visa expiry date.
Note: Residents of GCC countries, people who got special entry permits and also 96-hour permits for special missions are not obliged to follow the rule for the extension.
Things to consider:
- One can renew a tourist visa in Dubai for 30 days twice.
- Always remember to keep a check on the expiry date of the first extension
- Try to apply for the second renewal before the first one expires.
