There wouldn’t be any parking meters nearby to pay for a parking ticket if you were a visitor to Ajman or a resident of the Emirate wishing to park your car in a paid parking spot. This is due to the fact that Ajman’s public parking has been entirely digitalized since 2021, making it simple for drivers to pay for parking without having to attach a paper ticket to their dashboard.
So, here is everything you need to know about the service if you need to park your car in the Emirate of Ajman.
How to pay for public parking in Ajman?
The government agency in charge of regulating the public parking system in the Emirate is the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department. The department offers two options for drivers to pay for parking:
- via SMS
- through the department’s mobile application – ‘MPDA’ – which is available for Apple and Android devices.
Paying for parking in Ajman through SMS
Here is how you can pay for parking via SMS:
- Send SMS to the number ‘5155’ with a message following this format:
<Emirate code> <Plate code> <Plate number>
For example: ‘AJM A 0123’
- After that, an SMS will confirm your parking reservation. It’s crucial to keep in mind that, depending on your operator, there may be additional SMS fees if you choose to pay for parking via SMS.
- Additionally, you will only be able to make one hour’s worth of payments by SMS. You would need to pay for the parking using the municipality’s app if you wanted to pay for only a half-hour or an hour and a half, which is available in Ajman.
