The domestic tourist industry in the United Arab Emirates is booming, and staycations are becoming a very appealing choice for locals looking for luxury and affordability, especially during the customarily slower summer months.
Despite the high temperatures, UAE citizens are choosing domestic vacations over foreign ones due to a strong mix of affordable rates, half-board options, and top-notch experiences.
Ahmed M. Soliman, Group Managing Director of TCA Group of Companies, said hotels offer “phenomenal value” during the summer months. “When you do comparative value to European travel – a 23 square metre room in Capri or Portofino for $1500 – you’re getting a super five-star resort here. Yes, the weather isn’t great, but the product is excellent,” he said, underscoring the perceived benefit of local offerings.
Customers, who are placing a greater emphasis on the “value and experiences” they get for their money, strongly agree with this sentiment.
Although the GCC’s summer heat is frequently mentioned as a turnoff, industry insiders and hotel offerings indicate that the emphasis has turned to giving remarkable interior activities and affordable packages that offset the effects of the weather.
The focus on half-board choices, according to Soliman, improves the value offer for people and families looking for a fantastic vacation experience without having to pay extra for outside eating.
