It has signed a 6 billion important agreement to implement traffic solutions and improve the street infrastructure of Dubai’s most important development areas, the Road Transport Authority (RTA), and Dubai Holdings.
Road improvements include the construction of new bridges, streets and access points aimed at improving connectivity, reducing travel times and increasing the capacity of exit and exit points at various Dubai locations.
The agreement will lead to improved infrastructure for the most important development communities and projects across the Emirates, including the Dubai Islands, Jumeirah Dorf Triangle, Palm Gateway, Al Farm Gateway, Al Farjan, Jumeirah Park, Arjan, Majan (Phase 1), Nad Al Hammer, Villanova and Serena. As part of the contract, bridges and roads were developed to improve access points for five important developments in Dubai: Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai Production City, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah, International Cities (Phase 3).
For the Jumeirah Village Circle, four additional access points have been developed, and are developed with separate exchanges to doublet the capacity of the area entrance area. These improvements are expected to reduce travel time and access points on internal roads by 70%, while simultaneously improving road safety and ensuring seamless traffic flow at intersections.
Additionally, new bridges are being constructed to improve access to Dubai production city on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, reduce travel time at points of entry and exit, and improve traffic on the internal roads by 50%.
The agreement provides for surface improvements at intersections. This is the construction of a pedestrian bridge at Sheikh Zayed Road and the first intersection with Al-khail-Road to improve pedestrian safety and traffic flow optimization. Additionally, an internal road upgrade in the tower area reduces travel time to over 30%, allowing you to exit points and internal routes.
The improvements will build additional acceleration and delay indicators along the Palm Jumeirah, with six locations to optimize the flow of traffic. Additionally, two pedestrian bridges are being constructed to replace locations to degree, improve mobility, ensure pedestrian safety, and at the same time reduce travel time in Palm Jumeirah by 40%.
The deal also covers the expansion of the streets that marks the entrance from Manama Street to the International City (Phase 3) by adding new lanes. The expansion of internal roads and surface intersections is upgraded with traffic lights to streamline traffic flow and improve traffic safety. These improvements are expected to reduce travel time to just 5 minutes to 15 minutes.
Seamless traffic flow
Mattar Al Tayer, general director of RTA’s Executive Directors Committee, commented on signing a contract with Dubai Holding to improve access points in the group’s most important development areas. He explained that the agreement will improve the capabilities of internal streets and access points, reduce travel time, improve connectivity between residents and visitors, and improve road safety for all users.
The RTA continues to promote strategic partnerships with real estate developers, ensuring that the street infrastructure in the development area effectively meets traffic demands and improves seamless mobility for residents and visitors. As part of this agreement, the project will reduce travel time and increase the capacity of entry and exit points by 30% to 70%.”
