There is a free tool that you can use to determine the cost of a business licence in Dubai if you are on the fence about establishing your own company endeavour and would like to learn more about how much you may need to pay in getting a business licence.

The Dubai Economy and Tourism Department, which runs Invest in Dubai, offers the business cost calculator as a service (DET). Nonetheless, you should have a good idea of the kind of business you want to launch and the number of partners you intend to have before you begin. If you are certain of these particulars, use the following actions to determine how much the company licence would cost:

  1. Go to https://invest.dubai.ae/business-setup-recommendation to start.
  2. Describe the kind of business you want to launch in the “business concept details” section. A drop-down menu with choices from all of the business licence categories offered by DET will show when you put in the type of business you want to launch. To move further with the cost calculation, it is crucial that you choose one of these options. If your sort of business isn’t included in the list, call Invest in Dubai at (600) 500-006 to learn how to move forward with your business setup.
  3. The number of business partners, including yourself, should then be entered.
  4. Next, choose one of the three options for the partner(s)’ nationality: expatriate, GCC national, or UAE national.
  5. Choose “Next.” The system will then display a list of potential legal formats in which you can incorporate your business (such as LLC, EST, PJSC, PrJSC.)

Choose the option that best suits your needs.

  1. After you’ve provided this information, the calculator will show you all of your potential business licence alternatives along with their associated costs. In some cases, you might be required to enter the rent sum in order to obtain an estimate of the license’s price. This is so because 5% of the rent is also covered by the company licence. A virtual licence, which does not need physical office space, is exempt from this rule.

What does the cost include?

The cost of the licence is for a year, and you will be forced to pay the same sum each year when renewing it.

It’s vital to keep in mind that this only covers the cost of the company licence; it does not cover the full setup price, which would also cover visa fees, rent, and additional expenses like utilities and amenity bills.
