An aspiring businessperson or someone planning to invest in a UAE-based business will need to apply for an investor visa or a partner visa.
Business owners and investors can obtain investor or partner visas, which are valid for three years and allow them to sponsor family members and domestic workers in the UAE. This is what you need to do in order to obtain such a visa.
Step 1 – Applying for an entry permit
You would need to apply for an entry permit at an immigration office, Tasheel, or typing center near you.
You would be required to submit the following documents:
- Sponsor’s original Emirates ID
- Trade Licence Copy
- Establishment Card
- Memorandum Papers (MOA)
- Partner’s passport copy
- One photo with a white background
- Current visa of the partner (if the applicant is in the UAE)
- Bank Account IBAN Number of the sponsor
During this stage, you will also need to fill out the medical test application and the Emirates ID application, which are available at these centers.
Step 2 – Get a medical fitness test
For a medical fitness test, you would need to visit a government health center. During the application process, you can choose the location closest to you.
Step 3 – Get the Emirates ID
You should take the Emirates ID application, which was typed in the Amer center, to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.
Ensure that you have the following documents:
- Application of family members for Emirates ID
- The original Emirates ID
- Photos of your family members
You will need to provide biometric data, such as your fingerprint and iris scan if you have never had an Emirates ID. The age requirement is 18 years or older.
Step 4 – Apply for health insurance
Health insurance is mandatory in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It is always advisable to obtain some form of medical coverage even if you are applying for an investor visa from another emirate, as medical costs can pile up quickly during a health emergency.
Step 5 – Get the visa stamped
The final step is to return to the same center you visited for your initial entry permit submission. Then you would need to fill out a visa stamping form and submit your passport.
The passport, along with the stamped visa, will be delivered to you by a registered courier.
