According to BNA, which cited the kingdom’s Housing and Urban Planning Minister, Bahrain has set an ambitious goal to construct over 7,000 housing units within the next two years and distribute them to the kingdom’s beneficiaries as part of the first phase of the Government Land Rights Development Programme project.
Amna Al Romaihi, who unveiled the massive plan, stated that these properties were a part of 11 housing projects that were being expedited for the benefit of the public.
According to the minister, the completion rates of a number of projects being carried out in collaboration with the private sector under the Government Land Rights Development Programme are steadily increasing.
According to her, hundreds of residential units should be delivered before the end of the year as the work is now underway.
Al Romaihi pointed out that the Al Naseem project, which was carried out in collaboration with Delmon Gate, has reached a 79% completion rate, the Al Wadi project in Buhair, which Al Saraya Company carried out, has reached a completion rate of roughly 59%, and the Hoorat Sanad project, which Al Naml Group carried out, has progressed to 15%.
“The Al Naseem project in Salman City, which boasts 131 housing units, is currently witnessing rapid progress in construction works within the final finishing phase and electricity connections to the units,” stated.
It will be developed on a 23,000 square meter plot of land, with each residential unit having a built-up area of 265 square meters and sizes ranging from 171 to 190 square meters. She also stated that the project is anticipated to be finished by Q4 2025.
According to the minister, work on the 76-unit Al Wadi project in Buhair is proceeding steadily, with the concrete structure of some units finished and other units’ construction, including painting and final finishing, finished. The project will take place on 20,000 square meters.
According to Al Romaihi, Hoorat Sanad, a significant community initiative that will take place on 10,000 square meters of land in the kingdom, is presently in the foundation stage. When it is finished, 47 residential units will be housed there.
Al Rumaihi clarified that the businesses carrying out the program’s projects have adopted the policy of concurrently building the housing units and the related infrastructure.
According to her, this strategy aims to guarantee that the projects are finished on schedule, allowing for the prompt delivery of units to recipients.
As demonstrated by the quick sell-out of unit reservations following the launch of the Al Naseem project and the Al Wadi project at the exhibition accompanying the Innovation Summit in Social Housing, the minister claimed that Bahraini citizens are showing a great deal of interest in the Government Land Rights Development Program’s projects, which benefit from the housing finance program options, according to BNA.
According to her, the Suhail project sold out quickly after it was introduced at the Ministry’s second Housing Finance Exhibition in 2023.
The minister pointed out that Bahraini real estate development companies have shown a greater interest in projects in recent tenders, indicating confidence in the programs’ results.
According to her, four of the leading real estate firms in the country and abroad have inked memorandums of understanding to carry out the Khalifa City project, which would include over 3,000 homes and apartments.
