With a total value of QR1.671 billion, 86 mortgage transactions were recorded in August of this year.
With 36 mortgage transactions or 41.9 percent of all mortgaged properties, Doha Municipality recorded the highest number of mortgage transactions. Al Rayyan Municipality came in second with 25 transactions, or 29.1 percent.
The Ministry of Justice’s data indicates that Al Dhaayen Municipality had nine transactions, or 10.5 percent, of all mortgaged properties.
In August 2024, Doha Municipality topped the list with a mortgage value of QR1.418 billion, while Al Shamal Municipality recorded the lowest value at QR2.160 million.
Except for Doha Municipality, all municipalities that saw mortgage transactions had a ratio of the number of mortgage transactions in all transactions when the indicator of the movement of mortgage transactions was examined by analyzing the ratio of the number of mortgaged properties to the ratio of their financial value.
It was discovered that, in comparison to the total number of mortgage transactions, the amounts of mortgage transactions achieved a higher rate.
After a brief examination and tracking of the volume and movement of mortgage transactions processed in August 2024, it was discovered that Al Rayyan Municipality registered one property out of the top ten mortgaged properties, while Doha Municipality registered nine properties.
Eighty-six percent of the total value of all mortgage transactions processed in August 2024 came from the volume of mortgage transactions for the top ten properties.
There were 376 mortgage transactions in the second quarter (Q2) of this year, totaling QR15.479 billion, which represents a 24.8 percent increase over the same period in the previous year.
With 133 transactions or 35.4% of all mortgaged properties, Doha Municipality recorded the most, followed by Al Rayyan Municipality with 97 transactions, or 25.8% of all mortgaged properties.
Subsequently, Umm Slal Municipality recorded 90 transactions, or 23.9%, of all mortgaged properties.
In the meantime, compared to the same month the previous year, when there were 48 deals totaling QR84.101 million for residential units, the trading activity in August of this year saw a drop in trading volume.
The value of the top ten properties for August was disclosed by the trading volume; these properties included six in the Doha Municipality, two in Al Rayyan, and one each in the Umm Salal and Al Dhaayen Municipalities.
