According to a new rule unveiled on Monday, Dubai must have its own unique emblem — “one that mirrors its values and principles” — that would be used on official documents. Dubai’s emirate owns this emblem, which is protected by law number 17 of 2023 and its rules.
As the ruler of Dubai, Vice President, and Prime Minister of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, passed the law.
The logo may be used on all official papers, websites, and buildings of the government. Private organizations may use it as long as they receive prior clearance from the Ruler of Dubai or a representative of him.
If they don’t get prior consent to continue using it after 30 days, people must “completely discontinue” using it. Governmental organizations and people who have been given authorization to use the emblem are exceptions.
The essential decisions to carry out the provisions of the law that are effective as of the date of its publication in the Official Gazette must be issued by the Chairman of Dubai’s Ruler Court.
