What is the parking permit in Dubai?
For Dubai’s public parking lots, RTA offers seasonal parking permits with options for one year, three months, six months, or one year.
The RTA also offers unique parking licenses for Al Khail Gate, Silicon Oases, and Tecom, even though these permits are fundamentally divided into two categories, Category A and Category B.
The common parking permit, often known as a “Seasonal parking permit,” is accepted in most parts of Dubai. However, you are no longer required to display a physical card as an identification of your parking payment on the dashboard of your vehicle. With the transition to digitalization, you can easily activate the permit anytime you use a paid parking space on your phone using the RTA app.

How to apply for a parking permit?
Follow these procedures to apply for a seasonal parking permit for your vehicle or vehicles:
- On your phone, download the “RTA” application.
- When the file has been downloaded, log in with your UAE Pass or make an account.
- You only need to enter your contact information when setting up a new account, which includes your username, name, nationality, email address, and mobile number.
- Then, based on your preferences, you will either receive a one-time password (OTP) by email or via SMS to your phone.
- You can use the services on the app once you have confirmed the OTP.
- Click on the “Seasonal Parking card” tab under the “Parking Services” tab.
- Check the terms and conditions and confirm that you accept them.
- Choose the permit category and permit activation date by clicking the “Select a permit type” tab.
- Select the option labeled “Add your vehicles.” You can view all the vehicles that have been registered under your traffic file at this point. Three vehicles maximum can be chosen from the traffic file.
- Pay the appropriate fees for the kind and length of the permit.
You can use the permit as of the permit’s activation date once you’ve finished the service.
Car owners must be aware that the permit may only be used for one vehicle at a time. After activating the permit for one of your vehicles, you must wait 45 minutes before changing the license plate number. By selecting the license plate from your permit on the app, you may choose which vehicle you want to utilize the permit for.
