The Dubai remote Work Visa or Virtual ‘Nomad Visa’ program was announced by the UAE cabinet on March 21, 2021, allowing employees from all over the world to live and work in the UAE for one year. Individuals working for companies overseas can obtain a Dubai Work Remote Visa that allows them to live and work in the UAE remotely.
How to apply for a Dubai?
One must apply through the Visit Dubai Visa portal. Submit all the required information and documents in order to get a remote freelance 1-year resident visa. This portal is connected to the UAE Immigration system and Immigration issues the visa itself.

Eligibility criteria:
In order to apply for the virtual work visa, you should:
- Have a passport with a minimum of six months validity.
- Should have Health insurance with UAE coverage.
If you are an employee:
- Provide proof of employment with a contract that is valid for 1 year from your current employer.
- Should have a salary of minimum Dh18,366 per month.
- provide the salary slip for the last month and bank statements for the preceding three months.
If you are a company owner:
- You will have to provide ownership of the company for one year or more
- Have an average monthly income of Dh18,366 per month
- Provide bank statements of the company’s account for the preceding three months.
Fees:
The fee for one-year visa is Dh 2,244 inclusive of application fees, processing costs, medical and Emirates ID. One is required to have health insurance with UAE coverage validity or travel insurance with healthcare coverage.
