If you are relocating from residential areas like Jumeirah Beach Residences, Dubai Motor City, or Palm Jumeirah, it is likely that your previous villa or apartment was cooled by district cooling services provided by companies like Empower or Emicool.

As you prepare to move, it is important to terminate your cooling service and disconnect your utility connection with Dubai’s Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

To disconnect your district cooling service, follow these steps:

1. For Empower (Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation) customers

Before starting the process, make sure you have the following documents ready:
– Copy of Emirates ID
– Copy of Passport
– Ejari (tenancy contract)
– No-objection certificate (NOC) from the landlord (only required if terminating the contract early)

To cancel your Empower service and clear your final bill, please follow the steps outlined below:

Log in to your Empower account:

To access our online services, please visit the Empower portal at e-services.empower.ae. Sign in to your account if you already have one. If you do not have an account yet, you can easily sign up by providing your Empower account number, email address, and mobile number, and creating a password.

2. Submit a ‘Settlement Request’:

To access the Settlement Request feature, navigate to My Services and select Settlement Request.

Next, input your Empower account or premise number, clear any outstanding balances, and upload the necessary documents.

After reviewing and agreeing to the terms and conditions, simply click on the Submit button to complete the process.

Track the request:

After submitting your reference request, you will receive a unique reference request number. You can track the status of your request under “Pending Requests” in the My Services section.

Once your request has been filed, the final bill will be accessible online within two working days. You will be required to settle the bill promptly. Payment can be made online using your credit card or in person with cash at the Empower head office.

Where to pay

Payment can be made at the Empower Dubai headquarters.

Location:

The Al Hudaiba Awards Building is located on the 8th floor of Block A, directly across from the Etihad Museum on Jumeirah Beach Road and 2nd December Street.

Working hours:

Monday to Thursday – 7.30am to 3.30pm
Friday – 7.30am to 12pm

How to get a security deposit refund

To receive a cash refund, customers must schedule an appointment through the following steps:

  1. Visit the official website at e-services.empower.ae
    2. Navigate to the ‘My Services’ section
    3. Click on ‘Pending Request’
    4. Select the option for a refund
    5. Choose ‘Cash Refund’ as the mode of refund
    6. Select a convenient appointment date and time, and agree to the terms and conditions
    7. Click on ‘Submit’
    8. A confirmation notification will be sent to you via SMS and email.

Please ensure to follow these steps accurately to facilitate a smooth refund process. Thank you for choosing Empower.

Where to collect the cash refund?

To collect your cash refund, please visit the Empower head office and present the original deposit receipt along with your original Emirates ID or passport. Please note that cash refunds will only be issued to the registered customer and will not exceed Dh5,000. If the refund amount exceeds Dh5,000, it will be issued in the form of a cheque for security deposit refunds. Thank you for your cooperation.

For Emicool (Emirates District Cooling) customers

When preparing to move out of your rental property, it is essential to ensure that you have all necessary documents in order. These documents include:

– A cancellation form signed by both you and your landlord, clearly stating the move-out date.
– Your tenancy contract.
– A copy of your Emirates ID (front and back).
– A copy of your Emicool contract.
– The original receipt for your security deposit.

Having these documents in order will help facilitate a smooth and efficient move-out process.

What is the process?

To initiate the cancellation process, please ensure that you submit all necessary documents at one of the Emicool offices located in your area. These offices are conveniently situated at the following locations:

– Dubai Investment Park
– Dubai Motor City
– Mirdif Uptown
– DAMAC
– Dubai World Trade Centre

Kindly visit one of these offices to complete the cancellation procedure. Thank you for your cooperation.

Office hours – Weekdays – 8am to 4.30pm

Final bill and deposit refund

Emicool will generate your final bill within three business days. The final amount will be deducted from your security deposit. The remaining deposit will then be refunded to you through a bank transfer or cheque within five days. Rest assured, Emicool will notify you once the refund has been processed.
