The Dubai Police launched the White Points system in 2012 to reward responsible drivers, who do not commit any traffic violations or incur any fines. Basically, it is a way of appreciating and recognizing drivers who obey traffic laws.
White Points can only be earned in Dubai and are only available to Dubai drivers.

What is the process of earning White Points?
You can earn White Points if you don’t commit any traffic violations for a year. Despite how easy it may seem to earn White Points, there may be violations you are unaware of.
You can earn White Points by fulfilling the following criteria:
- In Dubai or other Emirates, do not commit any traffic violations.
- Avoid parking and Salik fines.
- For one year, don’t face any traffic charges.
What is the maximum number of White Points a driver can earn?
At the end of the year, White Points are accumulated at the rate of two points per month. This means eligible drivers would accumulate 24 points in a calendar year.
What is the purpose of White Points?
In exchange for a black point, you can use white points. The suspension of your driver’s license will be triggered if you accrue more than 24 black points in a year.
You can use your White Points in the following ways during a calendar year:
- Exchanging traffic white points for traffic black points up to a maximum of 12 points
- Canceling the impoundment of the vehicle for a maximum of 30 days
- Canceling a traffic violation that has no black points or impoundment period
- You can cancel the extra impoundment period for up to 30 days.
How do one check for White Points?

Training courses on reducing black spots in traffic
In the event that you don’t have any White Points to exchange your black points with, you can also reduce them by enrolling in Dubai Police’s special traffic training classes, which teach drivers how to reduce their black points and what is causing them to increase.
