The Palm Monorail now accepts Nol cards as payment, when previously you had to purchase a separate ticket if you wished to ride.

On October 25, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that riders of The Palm Monorail can now pay using their Nol gold, silver, or blue cards.

But what are the RTA Nol card and the Palm Monorail? Here is everything you require to know.

The Palm Monorail

The 5.5 km-long Palm Monorail route connects the Palm Jumeirah’s major attractions. It connects important locations in The Palm and is the only public transit system on the Palm Jumeirah.

The Palm Monorail stations

The Palm Monorail has five stations:

  1. Nakheel Mall
  2. Palm Gateway
  3. Al Ittihad Park
  4. Atlantis Aquaventure
  5. The Pointe

The Palm Monorail timings

Palm Gateway Station

First train – 9am

Last train – 9.45pm

Atlantis Aquaventure station

First train – 9.15 am

Last train – 10pm.

The same timings apply for both weekdays and weekends.

The time gap between every departure is 15 minutes.

Ticket cost

A round-trip ticket costs Dh15 and can cost up to Dh30, while a single-trip ticket costs Dh10 and can cost up to Dh20.

It is also crucial to keep in mind that if you have parked your car at a station, you will only receive three hours of free parking once you validate your ticket and will then be charged Dh10 per hour for each consecutive hour that your vehicle remains there.

Which Nol cards are accepted?

According to the RTA, passengers will be able to pay for their ride on The Palm Monorail using their gold, silver, or blue Nol cards.

How can one get a Nol card?

You can apply for the Nol card at any Metro ticket station, at a ticket machine, or online at rta.ae, depending on whatever card you wish to receive.
