The world’s most unique museum is preparing to take us on a journey into the future! Dubai Future Foundation’s ambitious project, The Museum of the Future, opened its doors to the public on 22nd February 2022. The museum is referred to as the “most beautiful building on earth” by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and promises a memorable experience that will live long in the memories of its visitors. Overview of the museum of the future
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai will provide a fascinating insight into what the future may hold.
Listed by National Geographical as one of the 14 most beautiful museums in the world, the pillar-less structure stands 77 meters tall and covers almost 30,000 square meters of space. The museum is not only a visual and cultural marvel but also a technological trailblazer.
In Dubai, a revolutionary building aims to explore the future of artificial intelligence and other innovative technologies. In addition to being a tourist attraction, the museum will feature advanced courses, specialized workshops, science conferences, and prototype testing of the latest inventions.
Structure of the museum
Designed by Killa Designs, the Museum of the Future Dubai is shaped like a lustrous silver oval with an open center. It is located next to Emirates Towers and is divided into three sections: the green hill, the building, and the void. Earth is represented by the green hill, and humanity is represented by the gleaming, futuristic building. In addition, the upper structure’s void represents innovation.
In the building design of the Museum of the Future, art and poetry are prominent elements. There is Arabic calligraphy engraved on the exterior, including quotes from the UAE’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, related to the future.
Two linking bridges connect the exhibition space to the Emirates Tower Metro Station and the Jumeirah Emirates Tower.
What to expect
The Museum invites you to gaze “beyond the present into the possible”. It will combine elements of an exhibition, themed attraction, and immersive theatre for various screenings and public events.
A three-storey podium is topped with seven floors and an F&B deck with an auditorium, retail, and parking facilities. Visitors will be able to explore and interact with each floor as if it were a futuristic film set.
The museum will feature exhibits on the future of education, advanced healthcare, smart cities, and super-efficient and fast transportation.
