The basic clothespin takes on a one of a kind measurement in the possession of acclaimed Israeli craftsman Zygo. Now his leading team is handing on to build the first Clothespin Tower in Dubai providing innovative design and cutting-edge technology to construct the 40-floor tower as a sign of love, peace, and hope between the world and the UAE. In conversation with the Gulf News, artist Zygo pointed out constructing the tower as a life-long addition to the city’s skyline.
What is Clothespin Tower?
The Clothespin Tower is the first theoretical building of its kind that provided the mundane clothespin into an icon of eternal love and unity. Whereas most buildings and skyscrapers boast height and architecture but are insufficient in terms of truth and philosophy, the Clothespin Tower, in terms of the famous artwork of Zygo, can be called a “monument of art”. The theory behind the Clothespin tower reflects two halves complementing each other, just as the everyday Clothespin.
The tower follows Zygo’s theory that two complementary halves or two souls come together to build a perfect union. The distinction between the Clothespin Tower and other towers lies in its aesthetic formality and shape. The artists concluded that no other building shares such a strong philosoptual and philosophical significance and everyone looking on to the tower will feel the related emotions.
While the Clothespin Company is planning to bring the tower to Dubai, what potential do you see?
The artistic and distinctive concept will build an iconic tower that will be a symbol of love, peace, and hope. This project will be the biggest piece of art ever created. They put in lots of hard work in the architectural planning and the way to bring the art piece to a live tower.
They are currently exploring local partners to develop the tower in the Gulf Region. They provide that same as the tower, the shared philosophy of the UAE and Israel has provided in the recently signed Abraham treaty that provides endless opportunities for us together. The leading team of the Clothespin tower is an expert in building concepts and creating them in the field of housing, offices, and hotels. After much research, they chose the UAE, all hail to the respect it has globally for its state-of-the-art developments and iconic buildings. They are looking forward to the projects as the bridge to space. This is going to be the first art-piece-tower in the world and it will be the central point for the piece between the countries and a tourist must-see the attraction.
The Clothespin Company will convert the famous artwork of Zygo into a realistic project that is both functional and experiential. They want to make people a proactive part of the project, from being passive viewers of works of art, they provide them a choice to be a part of the tower– enter it, live in it, spend time inside it, and more. They provide this inner experience of the viewer that is a powerful one.
Picture being able to step into the tower and live in it, feel it from the inside, and even change it a little with the personal character of each guest. While looking at the Burj Khalifa there is a sense of power that changes into height. In the Clothespin Tower, the feeling of size is exchanged by a feeling of intimacy and love, a sense of self.
What will be the practical use of the Clothespin Tower?
The idea is to construct a twin tower as seen in the picture. One side will provide a luxury hotel for guests visiting a city with 1,200 decorated rooms. On the different side, they will have 300 luxury apartments. The tower will also contain 10,000 square meters of commercial space that will contain a shopping center providing the top fashion brands, contemporary art galleries, upscale restaurants, and more. The tower will be the point of attraction for tourists, give the city a touch and build up the relations between Israel and the UAE.
