DUBAI – Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Municipality has finished the initial phase of its integrated neighborhood initiative for resident housing areas in Al Khawaneej 1 and Nad Al Sheba area.

The initiative intends to essentially raise benchmarks of personal satisfaction and prosperity in housing zones for residents and upgrade the community’s happiness in line with His Highness’s vision to make Dubai the world’s best city to live in.

Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said: “The plan provides a streamlined operational framework for achieving tangible improvements in all aspects of citizens’ quality of life so that it can substantially enhance their wellbeing and happiness. Through an integrated approach, the plan addresses all aspects of citizens’ housing, both existing and planned. Dubai Municipality is keen to provide an ideal urban environment offering the best possible physical environment, health facilities, and integrated services.

Al Hajri added: “Dubai Municipality developed the plan after studying international best practices in enhancing the quality of life in urban residential areas. It includes eight basic initiatives that address the needs of the local community. The initiatives complement each other to achieve the overarching goal of providing residential areas with the highest living standards. The plan features clear implementation procedures and mechanisms to measure the success of each initiative.” Dubai Municipality’s plan tries to create resident housing regions as coordinated communities where all occupants have simple admittance to its various facilities. Residents will be able to access the facilities by walking a short distance through an organization of pathways concealed with trees. Running tracks and regions for sports exercises will assist the inhabitants with appreciating a solid way of life.

The plan also includes the execution of metropolitan plan norms that help People of Determination and the old, with special attention placed on ensuring they can access all public services. It also upholds and supports social and social exercises for all sections in residential locations by initiating parks and open territories as per the need given to natural maintainability as a vital component of personal satisfaction.

Expanding green spaces and afforestation is another vital focal point of the plan. It also expects to encourage occupants to coordinate in maintaining the rule of supportability by advancing the utilization of recycling centers and spreading the culture of reuse and decrease of waste in private areas.

As a component of the first phase of the activation of the new plan in the Al Khawaneej-1 and Nad Al Sheba, local locations, pavements, bike paths, and streets have been fabricated and trees have been planted. Also, playgrounds have been developed, and the entrances to space have been distinguished and numbered.

The second phase will see the afforestation of inward roads and paths of the areas and the arrangement of pathways to work with admittance to all administrations in a wonderful walking environment shaded by trees.

Dubai Municipality looks to additional upgrade its methodology in creating local locations to guarantee all services and facilities and lifestyle components are finished in record time by incorporating them in the underlying phase of planning. As a feature of its new model for metropolitan residential community plan, it tries to offer coordinated types of assistance of the best expectations.

In addition, it plans to create imaginative non-traditional plans for residential neighborhood centers that offer different community, cultural and entertainment services. It is also creating smart projects to screen development rates in residential areas.

Dubai Municipality’s integrated neighborhood plan has three main points. The initial is to rehabilitate old residential areas near the city center and give an environment that is attractive to citizen families in a way that protects the cultural identity of these places.

Secondly, Dubai Municipality tries to improve the personal satisfaction in 26 existing local locations focusing on public and community services, green areas, walker and bikeways, and other key components recognized in the plan, in addition to implementing comprehensive afforestation of internal roads and giving public parks and playgrounds for children that meet the highest design standards.

The third focus aims at residential areas planned for the future. The municipality is recently developing guidelines for integrated urban plans for different areas, contain residential places, in line with the principles adopted by its plan.
