Contract of Dh 322 million awarded by Sharjah’s Arada for 920 homes at Aljada

Arada wins Dh322m contract to build 920 homes at Aljada

Arada, a Sharjah-based developer, has awarded a contract to build eight apartment buildings in Aljada, the Dh24 billion megaproject. The eight buildings form part of ‘Naseej District’, a neighborhood-focused on a younger demographic buyer or future tenants. There will be 920 apartments.

The contract was awarded to Mohammed Abdulmohsen Al-Kharafi & Sons (Al-Kharafi). Construction is expected to take 18 months. These buildings offer studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments with access to open courtyards and gardens. All apartments offer smart home features.

The five ‘Sokoon’ buildings and the Naseej District Museum are among the upcoming contracts in the Naseej District, along with the Vida Aljada hotel complex, residences, and serviced apartments. These contracts will all be awarded in 2022. “This award to Al-Kharafi shows our continued commitment to delivering high-quality homes at Aljada, which is increasingly becoming one of the region’s most active job sites with 6,000 units under construction,” said Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, CEO of Arada.

“The coming year will be transformational for Aljada, with substantial retail, education, F&B, and entertainment assets all nearing completion, alongside thousands of new homes, which will see the community’s population rising significantly as a result.”

Aljada’s masterplan is scheduled to be completed in several phases this year, including the second and third ‘Misk’ apartment buildings, which will be completed in March, and the second and final phase of the Sabis International School – Aljada (SIS-Aljada), which will be completed in August.

Additionally, Alara will complete the East Village complex of 16 apartment blocks, the Nest student housing community consisting of 12 apartment blocks, and the second Sarab villa community at Aljada by the end of the year. As of 2021, Arada has completed 1,200 homes in Aljada, including 12 apartment blocks and the first Arab villa community, as well as the first phase of the SIS-Aljada project.
