The major benefits of learning Arabic in the UAE have been improved communication skills and a greater understanding of Emirati culture. It can also help you enhance your career and find better employment prospects.

The Zayed House for Islamic Culture (ZHIC), an Abu Dhabi-based cultural Islamic organisation, offers free online Arabic classes for beginners if you’ve always wanted to learn the language but haven’t had the time.

The Arabic language classes are taught by ZHIC in Hindi, English, Russian, Mandarin, Tagalog, and Mandarin. There are five levels in the classes, from beginning to advanced.

The classes will teach students how to write, read, and talk in Arabic, as well as the Arabic phonetic system, according to the ZHIC website.

The classes can be scheduled through the “Tamm” mobile application, and you can register for the “Registration for Arabic to Speakers of Other Languages Courses” service.

The official portal for government services in Abu Dhabi is called “Tamm.” However, according to the “Tamm” call centre at 800 555, residents of Abu Dhabi are the only ones who can enrol in the classes.

Here is how to sign up for the free Arabic classes.

How to sign up for free Arabic classes in Abu Dhabi online

You need a UAE Pass account in order to access the “Tamm” portal. For residents and citizens, the UAE Pass serves as a national digital identity. With the UAE Pass app, users can access more than 10,000 government services with a single login.

Follow the steps below after first downloading the “Tamm” mobile application from the Apple App Store or Google Playstore:

  1. Open the app, then click the Services button towards the bottom of your phone’s screen.
  2. Next, click the category labelled “Culture and Tourism.”
  3. Next, select the area labelled “Culture Workshops.”
  1. Next, tap the “Start” button next to the service that says “Registration for Arabic to Speakers of Other Languages Courses.”
  2. Next, pick a course based on the language you want the classes to be taught in and the time that works best for you. You may also choose the language, date, time, and course level using the filter option to make it simpler to choose a class.
  3. After selecting a class, select “register” from the menu.
  4. The course information will then be available for you to see. When you register using UAE Pass, the class code, course name, duration, days, time, and contact information will all be filled in automatically.
  5. Next, scroll down to the area labelled “Address Information.” You must specify the area and the city in which you now reside (for example, Al Ain, Al Dhafrah, or Abu Dhabi city).
  6. After that, press the “submit” button.
  1. Following that, “Tamm” will send you a confirmation through SMS or email with information on the course and a Microsoft Teams link for the online classes.
