Unemployment Insurance Scheme: You can now subscribe via SMS

Workers in the UAE now have the opportunity to enroll in job loss insurance through SMS, and the application deadline for the UAE’s unemployment insurance program is this week.

Etisalat by e& and BOTIM, a free VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) mobile app in the UAE, is the most recent subscription channel, according to the Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) scheme’s official website, iloe.ae.

How to subscribe to ILOE via SMS

If you have an Etisalat mobile line, you must send an SMS in the following format to the number “2120,” according to Etisalat by e&:

I.D. < space> Emirates ID number

The ILOE subscription fee, if you have a postpaid line, will be applied to your bill or subtracted from your account balance, according to Etisalat.

Other ways to subscribe

Online

Through the ILOE site, www.iloe.ae, and the ILOE mobile application, which is accessible on Apple and Android devices, you can submit a direct application for the unemployment insurance program.

Through BOTIM, a free VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) mobile app in the UAE, you can also sign up for the job loss scheme.

The ‘ILOE’ icon on the app’s main page will take you to the sign-up page for the program.

Offline

You can purchase insurance coverage using cash through offline channels like Al Ansari Exchange for subscribing to the scheme.

MBME Pay and uPay kiosk machines, which you can find all throughout the UAE in public locations like malls and government service centers, are another alternative for enrolling in the ILOE plan. By looking for a ‘MBME Pay’ or ‘uPay’ kiosk on a mobile map website, you can locate one close to you.

Fine for failing to subscribe

A fine of Dh400 will be imposed if you fail not to enroll in the program after the deadline has passed.

Fine for missing instalments

The insurance certificate will be revoked and you will be charged a fine of Dh200 if you don’t pay the insurance premiums on time in accordance with the frequency of payments you choose.
