Here’s how to check the status of a recent application for a visitor’s visa, a work visa, or a residency visa for your family.
The UAE government offers a number of online and offline tools that you can use to check the progress of your visa application.
What do you need?
To track your visa application, you need the following details:
- Application number
- Transaction number
- Date of birth or passport number may also be required
Ask any visa service provider when you submit your application for the application number and reference number so you can track the visa yourself using the following methods.
Track visa application
Through the website of the Federal Authority for Identification, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security, you can follow your visa application if you submitted it in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, or Fujairah (ICP).
- The application tracking service is available here: https://smartservices.icp.gov.ae/echannels/web/client/default.html#/applicationTracking
- You will need to enter your request number (Application number) and tick the box to confirm that you are a real person using the computer. Then select “search.”
- You might track your visa application if you submitted it to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai by clicking on the following link: https://smart.gdrfad.gov.ae/Public_Th/StatusInquiry_New.aspx
- Your application number, transaction number, and visa payment date should be entered here. The receipt you receive after submitting your application contains all of these facts.
- Choose the checkbox to confirm that you are a human user. Then select “search.”
- If your application is being processed or if the visa has already been issued, the system will then let you know.
How to check the visa application status through DubaiNow
The Dubai government has a smartphone app called DubaiNow that allows you to monitor the status and expiration of your visa applications. Follow these steps to use the app to track your visa application:
- Download the app, which is available for Apple and Android devices.
- When the app opens, tap on “Residency,” one of the services displayed on the home screen.
- Click “Check Visa Status.” You can get a summary of the service via the app. Click ‘Ok, I understand’.
- The application number, transaction number, and payment date will then be required. After filling out the form, click “Submit.”
If your application is being processed or if the visa has already been issued, the system will then let you know.
