Aldar said that on the day of introduction, all 133 of the residences at the first branded residential complex on Yas Island, Waldorf Astoria Residences Yas, were sold out, bringing in AED 850 million (US$231.45 million).
The construction drew a diverse clientele with its top-notch facilities, strategic position on Yas Island, and renowned Waldorf Astoria service. Hilton’s renowned Waldorf Astoria brand is making its debut in Abu Dhabi thanks to this project.
Seventy-six percent of the overall sales came from foreign investors and expatriate residents, with the remaining 24 percent coming from UAE citizens. Chinese and British consumers drove global demand.
It is interesting to note that 66% of purchasers were under 45, indicating a significant demand for upscale, hospitality-driven living among younger populations. Additionally, 68% of sales were to first-time Aldar customers, demonstrating the growing popularity and reach of the company’s residential services.
“The sell-out of Waldorf Astoria Residences Yas is a significant milestone for Aldar and underscores the appeal of Yas Island as an investment destination and a top residential residence,” said Jonathan Emery, Chief Executive Officer at Aldar Development.
“As the island’s first branded residential offering, its overwhelming success is a strong indicator of the rising demand for luxury, hospitality-led living in Abu Dhabi and the universal appeal of the Waldorf Astoria brand.”
The tastefully decorated residences at Waldorf Astoria Residences Yas include duplexes, opulent four-bedroom penthouses, and apartments with one to three bedrooms.
It is ideally situated along the famous Yas Links Golf Course, with expansive views of the Yas Marina Circuit, the site of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and the golf course, which hosts the DP World Tour’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
