The project, which Azizi Developments started, intends to improve Dubai’s artistic and cultural environment and encourage creativity in the creative industry.
Mirwais Azizi, Founder and Chairman of Azizi Developments, briefed H.H. Sheikh Mohammed on the main elements of the project, which aims to raise Dubai’s standing in international competitiveness indices and solidify its status as a global cultural hub. The innovative project highlights Dubai’s dedication to developing creative talent and solidifies the city’s standing as a top global hub for the creative industries.
The cultural district project in Dubai South supports the leadership’s vision to make Dubai a global hub for the creative economy and is in line with the objectives of the Dubai Creative Economy Strategy. The cultural district located in Dubai South offers an impressive selection of venues that are intended to improve the artistic landscape of the emirate. 2,500 seats make up the opera house at its core, which features a cutting-edge, futuristic design by Zaha Hadid Architects.
Modern audiovisual equipment will be installed in the opera house to ensure an unmatched artistic experience. A more intimate 400-seat theater offers a flexible venue for smaller shows, comedies, dramas, and art classes.
Large exhibition halls with space for up to 2,000 people enhance the district’s offerings even more. Designed to host a wide variety of regional and worldwide exhibitions, this adaptable space can display anything from sculptures and paintings to state-of-the-art digital art.
