The Arada Group has awarded two contracts for the construction of 986 homes in Sharjah's Masaar forest community worth AED939 million

At Masaar, Sharjah’s massive woodland project, Arada has been given two significant contracts worth a combined AED939 million to construct 986 new homes across two residential areas. Masaar, a $8 billion development with 4,000 residences distributed over seven gated districts, has a master plan with more than 50,000 trees that is inspired by nature.

The contract to construct 421 villas and townhouses in Kaya, Masaar’s second residential phase, was awarded to Pivot Engineering & General Contracting, an Abu Dhabi-based company with more than 44 years’ worth of experience in the local market. The deal is valued at AED401 million. The first phase of Kaya’s construction will start right away and last for 18 months.

The well-known Sharjah-based contractor Intermass was given the AED538 million contract to construct 565 villas and townhouses in Robinia, Masaar’s third residential phase. Intermass is currently working on the Masaar construction site to complete Sendian, the first residential phase. Nasma Residences and Aljada are two further projects that Intermass has collaborated on with Arada. Robinia’s construction will start right away and be finished in 17 months.

Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, said: “These two awards signal our determination to push forward rapidly with construction at Masaar, where we are seeing sales demand accelerate thanks to very favorable customer sentiment about the newly opened central entertainment zone and show villa at the community, which provide an opportunity for buyers to truly appreciate what the Masaar lifestyle is all about.

“Thanks to the recent decision to allow freehold ownership for all nationalities in Sharjah, we are seeing buyer interest at Masaar accelerate significantly. The master development as a whole is now more than a third sold out and we’re bringing forward new phase launches in order to keep up with demand.”

With the award, 1,416 residences will now be built at Masaar, with the first phase expected to be finished by June 2023.

Sales for Azalea, the fourth phase of Masaar, started earlier in November, with delivery scheduled for the end of 2024. There are 566 properties in Azalea, ranging in size from two-bedroom townhouses to six-bedroom villas.

HH Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, formally opened Masaar in September. The Masaar Discovery Center, which is now open to the public, serves as the community’s central focus. It is surrounded by family-friendly attractions and recreational facilities, such as a skate park, an outdoor amphitheater, and a children’s adventure playground, as well as the second location of the well-known Zad food truck park. The Masaar show villa, the first finished house in the neighborhood, is also accessible to the general public.

The Design Middle East Awards 2022 recognized Masaar’s unique and nature-inspired design, which encourages mobility and active, healthy living for residents and visitors, by awarding it Master Plan Project of the Year.

The optimal location for Masaar is in the developing Suyoh neighborhood, close to Tilal City, the Sharjah Mosque, and Arada’s initial development, Nasma Residences. The neighborhood is conveniently located near Emirates Road and Mleiha Road, and it is only a 20-minute drive from Dubai International Airport and 15 minutes from Sharjah International Airport, respectively. The area is perfect for easy travel through light traffic from Sharjah to Dubai or the Northern Emirates.
