The Honorable The Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah, Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, has issued an Emiri decree creating a Communication Technologies Free Zone in Kalba city.
The Sharjah Communication Technologies Authority (SCTA) will oversee the Sharjah Communication Technologies Free Zone (Comtech).
For a renewable 50-year period, the decree exempts businesses, organizations, people, and workers operating within the free zone from emirate taxes related to their operations. Apart from consumption duties, the free zone is also exempt from all municipal taxes and fees.
The SCTA was founded earlier this month to strengthen Sharjah’s standing as a worldwide center that draws in the data center industry, future technology, communication technologies, and the telecommunications sector.
