The first Waldorf Astoria hotel in Abu Dhabi is set to open due to an agreement between real estate developer Aldar and American hospitality behemoth Hilton. With 167 rooms and suites with views of the neighboring Mangrove National Park, the new luxury property will turn the Eastern Mangroves hotel into a high-end destination.
According to a statement from the companies, Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi will have 167 opulently furnished guest rooms and suites, many of which have views of the mangroves. The organization aims to expand Hilton’s current collection of over 35 hotels in the United Arab Emirates, which includes three properties under the Waldorf Astoria name.
Carlos Khneisser, Hilton’s Vice President of Development for the Middle East and Africa, said, “We are delighted to have signed Abu Dhabi’s first Waldorf Astoria, which will enjoy an unrivaled location overlooking the Mangrove National Park.”
Khneisser added, “Abu Dhabi, which plans to welcome more than 39 million visitors by 2030, is a world-class tourism destination where travelers can enjoy museums, architectural masterpieces, and natural beauty. We see great opportunity in the city and are pleased to partner with Aldar to debut this iconic property.”
Visitors to the Waldorf Astoria Abu Dhabi can anticipate the hotel’s signature luxury experiences, which include a personal concierge assigned to each guest for customized service from the time of arrival until the guest’s departure, and which are poised to elevate the capital’s hospitality scene.
Situated near the Mangrove National Park, the companies claimed that the property would provide a serene escape only a short distance from the city center. More than sixty bird species as well as marine life, such as dolphins, dugongs, and turtles, can be found in the park. Those who are interested in boating, paddleboarding, or kayaking can explore the park’s waterways.
