Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi’s KEZAD Group and UAE-based Azizi Developments have signed a 50-year land lease agreement to establish 12 state-of-the-art factories in KEZAD A (KEZAD Al Ma’mourah) to meet the region’s expanding housing industry demands.
What will the project produce?
The project, which Azizi Developments plans to develop with an investment of AED 1 billion ($272 million), will include the construction of a modular factory, an aluminum and glass fabrication unit, an aluminum extrusion factory, a workshop for wood joinery and duct fabrication, and a facility for cutting and bending reinforcement steel.
These facilities, which cover an area of about 220,000 square meters, will use the available space and cutting-edge infrastructure to design and develop components and equipment necessary to meet the demands of the real estate sector.
Building energy-efficient homes through modular construction with sustainable materials like aluminum is a forward-thinking approach that complements KEZAD’s sustainable business practices for industrial development.
Speeding up construction
Building the planned facilities will guarantee quick construction of the materials needed for the expanding housing sector in the region. Hence, it will satisfy their needs by using quicker, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly production techniques.
By signing this agreement, AD Ports Group and KEZAD reaffirm their commitment to environmentally friendly, waste-free industrial manufacturing.
Abdullah Al Hameli, CEO, Economic Cities & Free Zones, AD Ports Group, said: “This project is another addition in our expanding ecosystem of manufacturers from widely diverse sectors who find KEZAD a supportive partner in their expansion plans. We welcome Azizi Developments to Abu Dhabi and look forward to the launch of the new facilities, which will be a significant step forward in meeting the needs of real estate development with sustainable industrial practices and contribute to economic growth.”
Mirwais Azizi, founder and chairman of Azizi Developments, commented: “We are delighted to be setting up several of our new facilities in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi’s Al Ma’mourah – the ideal hub for our building material manufacturing plans. We look forward to establishing ourselves in this ideally equipped location with 12 new factories worth close to AED1 billion in the coming weeks, enabling us to produce high-quality construction materials for our developments.”
Environmental footprint
In order to create urbanized built environments and to shape cities and communities, the construction industry is essential. Due to the industry’s large environmental impact, it plays a crucial role in guaranteeing sustainable construction.
The growing urban population needs to focus attention on the steps this industry needs to take to meet its demands while addressing waste and environmental impact.
With ethical and sustainable practices, Azizi Developments’ new KEZAD locations are ready to increase production speed and efficiency.
