Dubai's upcoming 329-meters high-rise building "Uptown Tower", has reached its highest point

One of the next tallest buildings in Dubai has reached its highest point. After the final pour of concrete on the building’s 79th level, the Uptown Tower near JLT has reached its highest point.

During the second quarter, the steel crown will be installed, increasing the tower’s height to 340 meters. As part of DMCC’s expansion, the tower will be completed by the third quarter of this year. “We are about to see one of the most exciting urban districts in Dubai come to life,” said Ahmed Bin Sulayem, CEO of DMCC. “From the start of the project, we set out to build Uptown Tower using the latest smart and sustainable construction practices, which has enabled us to build an exceptional tower without any disruptions during what has been an incredibly challenging period for the global economy.”

In addition to this project, Uptown District further increases the Jumeirah Lake Towers area at a time when more companies are registering at DMCC. A major draw was the free zone’s introduction of licensing for crypto-related businesses.

For each floor, the project team takes on average two days to complete the façade. The building’s exterior façade consists of over 8,500 glass panels, with installation works completed to level 70.

Packed schedule

Over 13 million man-hours have been completed on the Uptown Tower project since it began in July 2019. This was “achieved without any time lost due to injury, which is a testament to the safety controls and effective management of COVID-19 by DMCC and the various construction teams involved,” the free zone said in a statement.

The facade work is 90 percent complete and is proceeding in parallel with structural work. Each floor’s façade is being completed in just two days by the project team. There are over 8,500 glass panels on the building’s outer façade, with installation work complete to level 70.
