Citizen housing benefits worth $2.1 billion announced by Abu Dhabi

In combination with the 52nd Union Day of the UAE, Abu Dhabi has announced the distribution of housing benefits totaling AED 7.6 billion ($2.1 billion).

According to Wam, the package will benefit over 5,685 people in the emirate and includes housing loans of all kinds worth AED 6 billion, of which 3,714 UAE citizens have benefited. Low-income retirees and the families of those who passed away in 2023 will also not be required to repay their loans.

Over AED 573 million was allocated to this package’s portion, which benefited 549 Emiratis.

A total of 1,422 UAE nationals received residential lands and ready-made houses as part of the package, valued at over AED 950 million, including the cost of the infrastructure projects needed to support the residential lands.

With 9,292 UAE citizens having benefited overall, this raises the total value of housing benefit packages distributed in Abu Dhabi in 2023 to AED13.44 billion.

On the orders of President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, the housing benefits were approved to be disbursed by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

The wise leadership’s interest in and ongoing support for the housing sector in the emirate has led to the achievement of citizens’ aspirations, meeting their needs in a way that secures a decent life alongside family and social stability, according to a statement praising the key initiative Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority and Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport.

“Abu Dhabi Housing Authority is working to translate the directives of the leadership through its programmes and services, through which it seeks to achieve the vision of the wise leadership and provide for citizens in a way that contributes to the achieving of happiness, comfort, and family stability for UAE families,” he added.
