The developer of the Dh5bn Jubail Island project in Abu Dhabi has awarded a contract to construct the first 300 villas to Arabian Construction Company.
The value of the contract has yet not been disclosed, but Jubail Island Investment Company provided that the award was driven by “impressive” pre-sales to date, along with 60 percent of the site’s design already finished.
“With construction underway, the first tranche of 300 villas on Jubail Island will be ready by the fourth quarter of 2023,” Mounir Haidar, JIIC’s managing director, said. “We are positive that Jubail Island will be the most sought-after residences in the capital and we look forward to making more exciting announcements about this wonderful project in the future.”
Jubal Island sits between Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island and Yas Island. The 45 million square meter island already has a big mangrove park and the developer is also aiming to add restaurants, a beach club, a business center, sports facilities, schools, clinics, nurseries, and a community center. Further on, homes for more than 5,000 residents will be constructed.
The 300 villas being constructed during the first phase will range in size from 1,300 to 6,000 square meters, having between three and six bedrooms.
Arabian Construction Company has its headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The contractor constructs a number of the emirate’s landmarks containing Etihad Towers, Gate Towers, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, and the World Trade Centre Abu Dhabi.
Jubail Island “marks another quality residential project, demonstrating ACC’s strength and core competency in the building sector,” chairman Ghassan Merehbi said.
