Contracts for Phase Two of the Al Mamzar Beach Development Project, which will be built on a 125,000-square-meter plot of land in the city, have been given by the Dubai Municipality. Phase One construction started in June of last year and is currently 45% finished.
Over the course of both phases, the project is expected to cost approximately AED 400 million ($109 million).
Regarding Phase One development, the local council stated that the beach, which spans 275,000 square meters, varies in width from 30 to 90 meters at different locations. As part of the project, a 200-meter pedestrian pontoon bridge will be built to connect the creek’s two sides and provide public access.
Along with a 5-kilometer path and designated running and cycling lanes, it also boasts a 300-meter-long night swimming beach that is accessible to those with perseverance. The goal of these improvements is to make the communal area lively and inclusive for both locals and guests.
By the end of the year, both phases of the project should be finished, with phase two work concentrating on building the Al Mamzar Corniche beachside.
When completed, the 1,000-meter running, walking, and cycling routes on the public beach on the Al Mamzar Corniche will connect Al Mamzar Park with Al Mamzar Creek Beach.
This creative design, which is the first of its kind in the area, offers tourists a singular and complex experience by combining park areas with beach walkways.
Additionally, the complex will include green areas designed to the greatest aesthetic landscaping standards.
The main amenities, according to Dubai Municipality, will feature a 2,000-square-meter skating area, a 5,000-square-meter space for seasonal events and activities, kid-friendly play spaces, restrooms, and beach chairs.
In order to create a new beach tourism destination that satisfies international standards, adheres to sustainability principles, and addresses future concerns regarding climate change, the project intends to elevate beach infrastructure through creative designs that seamlessly connect the creek and the corniche.
By providing integrated beaches with cutting-edge recreational, sporting, and commercial amenities, it aims to reinvent worldwide beach design concepts.
These improvements meet the highest requirements and standards, highlighting Dubai’s dedication to enhancing everyone’s quality of life and well-being and solidifying its place as a major international tourism destination.
Al Mamzar Corniche Beach, which is 80 meters across, will have a women’s-only public beach. A secure gated entrance and fence will be part of the facility, which prioritizes privacy and safety.
In addition to providing specialized facilities like a sports club, commercial services, and kid-friendly play spaces, the ladies beach will allow swimming at night.
Bader Anwahi, the CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said: “This project reflects our commitment to creating innovative, sustainable infrastructure that aligns with Dubai’s future ambitions, solidifying its leading position across various vital sectors, and supporting the achievement of Dubai Economic Agenda D33 targets.”
Additionally, the Dubai Municipality will furnish the corniche with amenities for public health and wellness, such as restrooms, locker rooms, showers, and services for those with a strong will. A first aid center and control room will be located in an administrative building.
A smooth visitor experience will be guaranteed by smart services like crowd control tools, AI-supported surveillance systems, drowning rescue technology, and smart luggage lockers, he said.
Three kid-friendly play areas, two leisure areas, and extensive visitor amenities like grilling areas and jet ski marinas are also included in the plan.
He also mentioned that the beach will have 1,400 parking spaces, eight outdoor shower sections, eight restroom buildings, and changing and shower rooms.
