A partnership between Aldar and Siemens makes Saadiyat Grove Abu Dhabi's leading smart project

To establish Saadiyat Grove, an integrated mixed-use project currently under development in Abu Dhabi’s cultural center, as a premier example of smart urban living worldwide, Aldar Properties (Aldar) has announced a partnership with Siemens. At today’s World Future Energy Summit (WFES) in Abu Dhabi, the agreement was signed.

Throughout the Saadiyat Grove community, Aldar will implement the first cloud-based smart district management system in the UAE, making use of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio and its cloud-based Building X platform. The project is the largest smart technology investment made in a mixed-use residential and commercial real estate development globally to date.

In keeping with Aldar’s Net Zero Plan, the system will support emission reductions through advanced energy analytics. It will also enable eco-conscious living by giving residents a more tailored experience that puts their health first. AI technologies will enable state-of-the-art safety and security as well as predictive maintenance, while Internet of Things sensors will keep an eye on noise levels and air quality. To maximize operational efficiencies, the platform will also track asset lifecycles and include digital twins of the district.

At Saadiyat Grove, this useful application of an AI-powered analysis system will expedite asset management, guaranteeing first-rate living conditions for inhabitants and peak productivity for business tenants.

The integration of these solutions will allow for centralized monitoring, secure data management, and consistent quality and operational standards throughout Aldar’s portfolio, including both new and current developments. The advanced analytics application will be scalable. This will be a crucial part of Aldar’s larger investment in an ecosystem of technology infrastructure that provides better customer service, more effective operations, and more environmentally friendly solutions.

Jonathan Emery, Chief Executive Officer at Aldar Development, said: “Introducing the UAE’s first cloud-based district management solution at Saadiyat Grove represents a major advancement in the application of digital technology at scale in the real estate sector. Our partnership with Siemens forms part of Aldar’s ongoing commitment to transforming lives and landscapes for positive impact, leveraging innovation to introduce new sustainable living solutions that deliver meaningful emission reductions. Implementing this advanced smart district management system at Saadiyat Grove establishes a benchmark for smart living in Abu Dhabi and we look forward to expanding its use across Saadiyat Cultural District and beyond.”

Helmut von Struve, CEO of Siemens in the Middle East and the UAE said: “We are honored to work with Aldar on this pioneering project. Using the latest offerings from Siemens Xcelerator, our open digital business platform that enables digital transformation faster and at a larger scale, Aldar will be able to manage its portfolio more efficiently and provide the district’s residents and visitors a more comfortable and safer environment in which to live and work.”

At Saadiyat Grove, this useful application of an AI-powered analysis system will expedite asset management, guaranteeing first-rate living conditions for inhabitants and peak productivity for business tenants.

Saadiyat Grove, which is located in Abu Dhabi’s Cultural District, is destined to serve as a template for clever and sustainable development both domestically and abroad. A business park with four Grade A commercial office buildings and a net leasable area (NLA) of about 26,000 sqm will be one of its features. In addition, Saadiyat Grove’s retail area will cover 78,000 square meters of net leasable area. This will include community retail spaces, two retail boulevards, and a central shopping destination that will bring new experiential dining, entertainment, and retail concepts to the Emirate.
