A new facility, valued at Dh450 million, has been established by Sobha Group in Dubai Industrial City (DIC)

With an investment of Dh450 million, real estate developer Sobha Group announced on Wednesday that it had signed a land lease agreement with Dubai Industrial City (DIC) to establish a second furniture factory.

It spans an 84,000 square meter land area with 50,000 square meters of built-up space. The company will produce a variety of goods for the local market as well as for export clients, such as couches, seats, armchairs, chairs, beds, car and airplane seats, and assembled and flat-pack cabinets.

The new building will support the regional industrial sector by way of programs like “Make it in the Emirates.”

“Sobha Furniture at Dubai Industrial City will contribute to Dubai’s and the UAE’s manufacturing landscape in the years to come, and we are proud to expand Sobha Group’s legacy of adding value to change lives for the better,” said PNC Menon, founder and chairman of Sobha Group.

“With this factory, we aim to not only meet but exceed global standards of high-quality, luxury furniture manufacturing. This significant investment underscores our commitment to innovation, quality, and contributing to the growth of the local economy,” said Carlo Magistretti, CEO of Sobha Furniture.

Synergies with Sobha Furniture’s current facility in KEZAD, Abu Dhabi, will also be possible due to its location within Dubai Industrial City.
