For Emiratis building new residences, the FTA has launched new services to simplify the VAT refund process

Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has launched new services to make it easier and more efficient for UAE nationals to reclaim Value-Added Tax on their newly built properties.

FTA’s new service provides four different services designed to raise the target audience’s awareness, provide them with easy access to information, allow them to receive direct communication from FTA representatives, receive their feedback, and continuously provide them with top-quality services that match their expectations.

In the initiative, a virtual workshop will be conducted weekly, the “Virtual Session“, which will connect UAE citizens eligible for the refund services with UAE housing authorities, contractors, engineers, and construction experts to provide consultations and clarification about the VAT refund process.

Also included in the new service is a “Personal Assistant” service, where applicants can schedule an appointment to speak directly with FTA employees about the refund process.

With regard to the VAT refund process, the Authority has explained that the new services include a new campaign called ‘Your Voice is Heard’ in which the Authority facilitates a series of remote, online interactive sessions designed to gauge citizens’ feedback, remarks, and suggestions.
