Expo 2020 Dubai hosts over 10 million visitors

The Expo 2020 Dubai visitor numbers continue to rise, reaching 10,188,769 visits as of 18th January, and Expo 2020 Dubai’s virtual visitation passed 65 million.

Besides the first Global Goals Week to be held outside New York and a star-studded K-pop concert, visitors were encouraged to attend because they had confidence in the event’s robust safety measures.

Expo 2020 Dubai’s Theme Weeks are proving popular due to a variety of engaging forums, panel discussions, and on-site activations.

Leading the charge of a major call to action, the Global Goals Week runs until 22nd January, in association with the United Nations, to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

It recognizes that tackling poverty and other deprivations must be undertaken alongside strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, spur economic growth, and combat climate change.

Over the course of the week, global leaders, policymakers, business leaders, and key players from the World’s To-Do List campaign will meet to develop goals, while visitors to Expo 2020 Dubai will be encouraged to share their own personal goals to help drive positive change.

Participants of all ages can get involved as art, dance, quizzes, and light festivals take place throughout the site to raise awareness and inspire everyone to become change-makers. Additionally, they are invited to participate in the Expo 2020 Walk for Climate Action on 21st January with UNDP Regional Goodwill Ambassador Michael Haddad.

Running enthusiasts will also have another chance to run around the iconic site. Dubai Sports Council will support Expo 2020 Dubai Run 2, which will be held on Saturday, 22nd January. Participants can choose between three distances: 3km, 5km, and 10km.

Health and safety remain a priority on-site, with stringent rules in place. A number of measures are in place on-site, including mask-wearing – both indoors and outdoors – for visitors, staff, and participants, as well as PCR tests for Country Pavilion staff, frontline workers, and entertainers. Expo visitors ages 18 and above must provide proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of arriving at the Expo.

Until 31st March, Expo 2020 Dubai will invite the world to celebrate a brighter, better future for all.
