What should you do after applying for your Emirates ID?

There are a few simple procedures you should follow if you recently applied for your Emirates ID and are awaiting a tangible copy.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) shared information on Monday, August 22, via a post on their official social media pages about how applicants can monitor the status of their applications and important considerations.

1. Know how long the process will take

The first consideration, according to ICP, is how long it takes for you to receive the physical copy of the card.

It will take roughly a week for your Emirates ID to be issued if you have successfully renewed your Emirates ID.

2. Verify the shipping details mentioned in the application

By examining the copy of the application that is in your possession, you should also validate the specifics of the address you have given for the delivery of the Emirates ID. It is important to post the contact information and address accurately because doing so can prevent your card from being delivered on time.

3. Follow up on the status of the application

The Application Number (PRAN) displayed on your application form allows you to follow the progress of your application. By calling ICP at 600 522222, you may also trace the application.

You can follow up on the delivery by contacting the courier service listed on your application, according to ICP.

4. Pick up your Emirates ID within 90 days at the most

Additionally, it is crucial that you pick up your Emirates ID from the closest Emirates Post office without delay. In the awareness message shared by ICP, the authority stated: “Please collect your ID card within the prescribed period of 90 days to avoid re-applying for a replacement card.”
