Waiting in a public parking lot in Sharjah? You still need to pay

According to Sharjah City Municipality, parking is still an expense even if you are waiting in a car that is parked in a public space.

You still have to pay the parking fees for using the space even if you stopped to pick up lunch or leave anything off.

In accordance with a Thursday online posting by the municipal authority, drivers who wait in their cars will be penalised if they don’t pay or renew their parking tickets.

In Sharjah, failure to pay for public parking results in a Dh150 charge, and failing to renew a parking ticket after it has expired results in a Dh100 fine.
