Visiting the UAE? UAE Pass allows tourists to access UAE government services

If you are a visitor to the UAE and need to access a government service, you can simply do so by using a single digital identity, the UAE Pass, to sign in to any government department’s online services.

Users of this app can now create a UAE Pass account even if they are not UAE residents but possess an Emirates ID, according to a new update that was introduced at the Gitex Global 2022 week.

However, why is the UAE Pass significant? And how can a visitor sign up for the app? Here is everything you require to know.

What is UAE Pass?

The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority, and Digital Dubai partnered to launch the UAE Pass in 2018. Your single login is your UAE Pass account, which you can use to perform a variety of online tasks. For instance, you can access services across many industries in the UAE, view your personal COVID-19 vaccine information, or even electronically sign documents. The UAE Pass now provides access to more than 10,000 government services.

You don’t need to be a resident to use the service

Visitors can now use the UAE Pass app by confirming their information with other identity documents, whereas previously they had to have an Emirates ID to register themselves.

If a visitor is a citizen or resident of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), they can register an account using their national ID, or if they are from outside the GCC, they can do so using their passport.

How do visitors sign up for the UAE Pass?

The procedure that visitors must follow to create an account on the app is as follows:

  1. For Apple and Android users, download the “UAE Pass” app.
  2. As soon as you launch the app, you will have the choice of signing up as a guest or resident. Choose “visitor” from the options.
  3. Your ID document will need to be scanned. If you are a citizen or resident of the GCC, you may use your national ID here. You can finish this step with your passport as well.
  4. After that, provide your contact information, including your mobile number and personal details like your full name, nationality, and birthdate. This could be your local UAE phone number or your home country’s number.
  5. After completing the registration process, individuals must generate a PIN code and use facial recognition to confirm their identity. They can then take advantage of the services offered.

The Google Play Store and the Apple Software Store both sell the app.
