Using public transportation to move around Dubai is simple and inexpensive if you’re a visitor.
You have a variety of transportation alternatives, including taxis, the metro, tram, and ferries, if you wish to visit one of Dubai’s popular attractions, including the Burj Khalifa or Bluewaters Island.
Here is how to use public transportation to go to these five well-known sights in Dubai.
Dubai public transport app – S’hail
Commuters can plan their trip in Dubai using public transit and receive an estimated cost of the trip with the RTA’s S’hail app, which is accessible for both Apple and Android devices.

1. Burj Khalifa
Nearly all visitors to Dubai include seeing the Burj Khalifa and the stunning Dubai Mall fountains on their itinerary. Using the Dubai Metro is the most practical way to get to the Burj Khalifa neighbourhood.
Dubai Metro
The Red Line’s “Burj Khalifa/The Dubai Mall station” is the closest Metro stop. When you arrive at the Metro station, proceed out the exits marked “Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa.”
The Metro Link Bridge or a footbridge can be used to get from The Dubai Mall to the Metro station. The bridge connects “Burj Khalifa/The Dubai Mall Station” with The Dubai Mall with a glass tunnel travelator.
Public buses and taxis
If you don’t want to use the bridge, you can also use the feeder buses or one of the cabs that are available at the Metro station. Feeder buses carry passengers from Metro stations to nearby residential or commercial areas.
Bus stop and route towards Dubai Mall entrance
The Dubai Mall Metro Bus Stop Landside, Exit 1 is where the bus stops and taxi stands are located at the Metro station. The F13 bus route is the feeder bus that stops at the Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa Metro station. The tourist drop-off point, which is in front of the Grand Drive Entrance on the Lower Ground Floor of The Dubai Mall, is where the buses come and depart from.
A bus ride from the station to the Dubai Mall entrance will cost you about Dh3.
You must enter the Dubai Mall, remain on the lower ground level, and follow the signs to the Burj Khalifa, which are prominently marked throughout the mall, in order to see the Burj Khalifa.
2. Dubai Marina
The Jumeirah Beach Residences is one of the numerous vibrant neighbourhoods that make up Dubai Marina (JBR). A 7km promenade with shopping and dining opportunities is part of Dubai Marina Walk.
The Dubai Metro and Tram are the most convenient ways to explore the Dubai Marina area because it includes several neighbourhoods.
How to use the Dubai Tram and Metro to Dubai Marina?
You must exit at the SOBHA Realty Metro station on the Red Line if you intend to use the Metro to travel to the Dubai Marina area. You can reach the Dubai Marina Tram Station from this Metro station. The tram will then make stops at a variety of locations throughout Dubai Marina.
3. Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR)
The Walk and The Beach are two of JBR’s most well-known attractions. The beachside boulevard contains retail stores, cafes, and restaurants if you’re seeking for somewhere to take a leisurely stroll by the water. The Beach, a public beach with a 600-meter running track and a variety of outdoor sports like beach volleyball and an outdoor gym, is located parallel to The Walk.
Dubai Metro and Tram towards JBR
Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) Metro Station on the Red Line is the one that is closest to JBR. The Jumeirah Lake Towers Tram Station, which is a stop on the Dubai Tram, is also connected to the DMCC Metro station. Go to the Jumeirah Beach Residence 1 station, which is the tram stop closest to the JBR beach area, after you are aboard the tram.
Renting bikes and e-scooters in Dubai

How to take the Dubai Ferry to Bluewaters Island?
Take the Dubai Ferry or Dubai Water Taxi from the Dubai Marina Mall Marine Transport Station to the Bluewaters Marine Transport Station as a substitute for driving. After arriving at the station, it will take you one to two minutes to walk to the centre of Bluewaters Island. The cost of the Dubai Water Taxi or Ferry is Dh25 and can be paid with your Nol card.
5. Palm Jumeirah
Because it links important locations on the man-made island, the Palm Monorail is the most convenient way to go around Palm Jumeirah.
The only means of public transit for locals, guests, and tourists on the Palm Jumeirah is a 5.5-kilometre line known as the monorail.
From the Gateway Station at the Palm Jumeirah’s entrance to the Golden Mile Galleria, Al Ittihad Park, Nakheel Mall, The Pointe, and Atlantis Aquaventure station at the journey’s end, it connects tourists and locals.
How does one use the Palm Monorail?
The Dubai Tram connects to the Palm Monorail. A footbridge connects the Palm Monorail’s starting point to Palm Jumeirah, the location of the Dubai Tram station. The journey to the island’s entrance, the Palm Monorail station at Palm Gateway, will take about ten minutes.
You can ride the Palm Monorail with your RTA nol card or you can purchase individual tickets at any of the Palm Monorail station customer service counters.

A single-trip ticket price starts from Dh10 and can go up to Dh20, and a round-trip ticket price starts from Dh15 and can go up to Dh30.
