Before your trip, you must download and register with Al Hosn, the UAE’s official COVID-19 app, if you’re a tourist visiting Abu Dhabi and wish to enjoy the Emirate’s tourist sites and commercial centers.

The Al Hosn app released an upgrade on August 22 that enables travelers to sign up for the app and log in using their passport number before they arrive in the United Arab Emirates.

Before, travelers had the option of registering using the Unified ID (UID) number that is listed on their tourist visa.

How do tourists register on the Al Hosn app?

Visitors entering the UAE without a UID number can pre-register on the Al Hosn app by following the instructions below before they arrive in the UAE.

Why do tourists need to download the Al Hosn app?

The UAE’s official COVID-19 app is called Al Hosn. It gives you access to test results and alerts you if you have come into touch with confirmed COVID-19 cases.

The Al Hosn Green Pass is required to enter social events, tourist attractions, and cultural places in Abu Dhabi whether you are a visitor or a resident of the Emirate.

How do tourists obtain a Green Pass on the Al Hosn app?

Depending on the person’s vaccination history, a Green Pass on Al Hosn has a different validity term. Your Green Pass will be valid for a specific amount of time based on your COVID-19 vaccination status.

If you are a visitor to Abu Dhabi, you must fulfill the conditions listed below in order to receive a “Green Pass.”

Fully vaccinated: Every 14 days, travelers who have received a PCR test must receive a negative result to keep their “Green” status.

Tourists exempted from the COVID-19 vaccine: A negative PCR test result is required every 7 days for visitors with a valid vaccination exemption in order to keep their “Green” status.

Unvaccinated touristsAnyone who is not vaccinated must undergo a PCR test every 48 hours in order to keep their status as “Green” on the Al Hosn app.

For children: Children under the age of 12 are given a “Green Pass” status automatically without having to get vaccinated or undergo a PCR test.
