Traveling by road from Saudi Arabia to UAE? You can get car insurance in advance by following these steps

Traveling from Saudi Arabia to the UAE by road? We’ve got some great news for you! The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) has recently announced a new resolution that requires foreign vehicles entering the UAE by land at Al Ghuwaifat Port Station to be insured. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with the new ‘Shory aber’ online service. This service allows you to purchase your car insurance up to 10 days in advance, making it easier for you to complete border control procedures and skip the queue at the Al Ghuwaifat Port Station.

Starting from June 26th, this new resolution will be in effect, so make sure to take advantage of this convenient service. With ‘Shory aber’, you can rest assured that your car insurance is taken care of, allowing you to focus on enjoying your travels. So, why wait in long queues when you can easily purchase your car insurance in advance?

How to get car insurance through Shory Aber?

To purchase insurance for your vehicle, simply download the ‘Shory Aber’ app from either the Google Play store or the Apple Appstore. Once you have accessed the app, you will be given a brief introduction to how the service works, allowing you to compare and buy insurance on your phone. To get started, tap on ‘Get a quote’.

You will then be asked to select your vehicle type from the following options: Private vehicle, Taxi, Bus, or Heavy truck. Next, select where your car is registered by tapping on a plate country from the GCC (Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar) or select ‘other’ if your vehicle is registered in another country.

After selecting the category under which your number plate falls, you will be asked to choose the length of your policy. You can select from 15 days, 30 days, 3 months, or 6 months. Then, choose the date when you want the policy to be activated. The system allows you to select a date of up to 10 days in advance.

The service will then generate insurance policy options available to you as per your length of stay. Select the policy that best suits your requirements. To complete the process, upload photos of your vehicle license card and driving license, enter your mobile number and full name, and make the payment online using your credit or debit card or through Apple Pay.

Once the policy is issued, you will receive a notification on the app. If you need to make any changes to the policy dates or cancel the policy before it goes into effect, you can do so through the Shory Aber service customer service section. You can reach out to them through the chat option available on the website – aber.shory.com – or by calling on +971800 SHORY (74679). The customer service section operates from 9 am to 9 pm UAE time. Please note that if you cancel after the policy has started, you will not receive a refund.
